Another Shooting Happens On Haruku Island, Central Maluku

AMBON - Another shooting occurred in Hulaliu Country, Haruku Island District, Central Maluku Regency which resulted in YN (53 years old) dying and MT (27 years old) being injured.

“Earlier, one victim died, then one was injured, from a resident of Hulaliu. So as of today, there have been two fatalities," said Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Kombes M Roem Ohoira, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 15.

According to him, the shot came from the forest, and suddenly someone fell.

"Actually, we have a lot of officers there, but if the people there choose the cross road to enter the forest, this is our problem," he said.

The shooting that occurred between the residents, until now it is not known why and by whom.

"We don't know who these residents are dealing with, because the residents have fled to the forest. This is what we regret," he said.

Previously, there was a shooting at YL, a resident of Hulaliu, on Monday, February 15. The police immediately took care of the security situation.

The Regional Police hopes that the community will not be provoked and hold back, and have the awareness not to do things that trigger conflict.

"Let's keep this Maluku safe and peaceful," he said.
