Annoyed By Damaged Road Due To Passing By A Large Truck, Residents Of Bangorejo Banyuwangi Road Blockade

BANYUWANGI - It's been almost a month since residents closed the connecting road between Kebondalem Village and Ringintelu Village, Bangorejo District, Banyuwangi, East Java.

The road blockade was carried out because the residents were annoyed that the road was damaged due to the frequent passage of wood and sand trucks. The road was damaged and bumpy.

The closure was carried out by residents by installing used barrels in the middle of the road equipped with stop signs.

Sapalin (56), one of the heirs who donated the land, admitted that he only closed part of the road access. The goal is to prevent trucks from passing on that route.

"We, together with other residents, have closed this road, but it is not completely closed, motorbikes can still pass," he said, Thursday, February 10.

Not far from the location of the closed road, there is the Perhutani office which was previously a Timber Shelter or TPK Ringintelu.

As a result, Perhutani currently no longer uses that road. The timber truck belonging to Perhutani had to turn around to get to the TPK.

Meanwhile, the village head of Kebondalem Iksan (55), confirmed the road closures by residents. The closure has been going on for almost a month.

"The road has been closed by residents for a month, the reason is that the residents don't want trucks transporting wood or transporting sand to pass anymore," explained the Head of Kebondalem Village.

Residents asked for the road to be repaired. The requested repair is a cast road.

"Residents want the road to be cast, if it is passed by a large truck it will not be easily damaged," said Iksan.

Mediation meetings between residents and Perhutani have already been held. But until now there is still no bright spot.

ADM Perhutani South Banyuwangi Panca Putra Muda Sihite admitted that during mediation the residents asked for a cast road. But this request was not approved.

"Yes, it's impossible, how much money should we spend," he said.
