Bareskrim Unloads Large Surabaya Drug Syndicate From Evidence Of 7 Ecstasy Items

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police thwarted the circulation of 17 thousand ecstasy pills in the Surabaya area, East Java. Disclosure of this case began with the arrest with evidence of 7 pills of ecstasy.

"Disclosure of 17,000 ecstasy pills and 4 packs of methamphetamine weighing 400 grams," said Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police, Brigadier General Krisno H. Siregar, to reporters, Thursday, February 10.

In this case the police arrested 5 suspects. They have the initials W alias C (49), Y (26), W (42), AD (60), and HS (68).

This disclosure began with the arrest of suspect Y on January 30. From the arrest, the police confiscated four types of drugs.

"The evidence that was secured was one package of marijuana, two grams of crystal methamphetamine, seven ecstasy pills and two happy five boards," Krisno said.

This arrest was developed until it was detected leading to the Amor Apartment. In one of the apartment units, the police arrested suspect W alias C with 6 grams of crystal methamphetamine as evidence.

Then, the police also checked W alias C. From the examination, it was found that there were other narcotics stored at his house, which was on Jalan Mulyosari Prima 1, Mulyorejo, Surabaya.

"There were secured three suspects W, AD, and HS," said Krisno.

In the house, 17,000 ecstasy pills and other narcotics were also found. In addition, the police also confiscated evidence in the form of cash worth Rp. 153 million and savings worth Rp. 375 million, which were allegedly the result of drug transactions.

"It is planned that the 17,000 ecstasy pills will be distributed in Sidoarjo, Blitar, Malang, Mojokerto and Surabaya," Krisno said.

Currently, the police are still developing this drug ring case. This is because the brains of the narcotics distribution, with the initials TL and O, are still being sought.

The suspects who are currently being detained are charged with Article 114 Paragraph 2 Juncto Article 132 Paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
