Surabaya City Government Issues Market Rules And Supermarkets Must Close At 21.00 WIB During PPKM Level 2

SURABAYA - Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi issued a Circular (SE) regarding the Implementation of Level 2 COVID-19 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) dated February 8, 2022.

In that SE, all supermarkets, traditional markets and public facilities (fasum) must close at 21.00 WIB during PPKM Level 2.

"There are several rules in the SE numbered 443.2/2205/436.8.5/2022, and are addressed to business actors, managers, organizers or persons in charge of business premises and/or public facilities throughout the city of Surabaya, Head of RT/RW, LPMK, Head of OPD, sub-district heads and village heads throughout the city of Surabaya. The goal is to prevent the spread of COVID-19," said the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, in Surabaya, Wednesday, February 9.

A number of important points in the SE, namely various regulations and a number of prokes that were tightened, starting from the implementation of learning, limiting the hours of community activities, implementing learning and the capacity of the number of visitors in supermarkets, cinemas, to activities in fitness centers.

"The implementation of learning in education units can be done through limited face-to-face learning and/or distance learning based on a joint decision of the Minister of Education and Culture, Minister of Religion, Minister of Health and Minister of Home Affairs," he said.

Prokes tightening is also carried out for residents who want to enter or buy daily necessities at supermarkets, hypermarkets, traditional markets, grocery stores and supermarkets. This activity is limited to operating hours until 21.00 WIB, with a visitor capacity of 75 percent. Meanwhile, pharmacies are open 24 hours.

"People's markets that sell non-daily necessities can operate with a maximum capacity of 75 percent and operating hours are up to 20.00 WIB. Then for street vendors, grocery stores, voucher agents/outlets, barbershops/barbershops, laundry, hawkers "Small workshops, vehicle washes, and the like are allowed to open until 21.00 WIB," he said.
