Gold Businessman In Tangerang Admits He Was Cheated On Buying A Motorbike By A Man Who Claims To Be A Member Of The TNI

TANGERANG - Witan Triansyah, a 26-year-old male resident of Bulak Santri Village, Karang Tengah, Tangerang City admitted to being a victim of online fraud by a man claiming to be a member of the TNI. Witan told VOI that on Saturday, February 5, evening, Witan's wife asked to buy a motorbike. This man also took the initiative to find it through advertisements on social media Facebook. Witan was also interested in the motorbike advertised by one of the accounts on Facebook. This man tried to contact him via the WA number listed. "I made the transaction on Saturday, February 5th. I made the deal for Rp. 5 million," said Witan, Monday, February 7, afternoon. Witan explained that the motorcycle seller gave his identity starting from his KTP and KTA with the name Prasetyo. According to Witan, this was done to make sure himself.

"The address is Pondok Emas Lestari Housing Block Q, Pakuhaji Village, Namprah, West Bandung Regency. This fraudster also gave a selfie using the uniform of the TNI Peacekeeping Military Personnel with light brown stripes," said Witan. Then Witan made the payment via bank transfer. After that Witan was sent a receipt by the seller, which was sent from West Bandung using the Indah Cargo delivery service to Witan's address in Karang Tengah. Seeing this evidence, the victim finally decided to transfer Rp5 million to a bank account with EI's initials. "I'm waiting for the goods to be packed. Then he admitted that it had been packed. He gave receipts. When I checked it was registered," he said. "In the end, I transferred it. I collected the money from the cooperation to sell gold. It was the motorbike for my wife," he added. Witan only realized that he was deceived after being called by someone who claimed to be a freight forwarder. Witan said the person informed him that the motorbike he bought had a problem. "The engine number doesn't match the vehicle certificate, he said. He said the motorcycle was confiscated by the police in Karawang. I was told to confirm with the seller. I waited 5 minutes," he said. However, when confirmed the seller did not respond. Witan confirmed to the delivery service officer that the motorbike seller did not respond. Suspicion grew when Witan realized that the photo on the WhatsApp profile of the delivery service officer was the same as the motorbike seller. "I told the officer how come his profile photo is the same as the motorbike seller. He was angry, he kept saying he would just finish it at the police. I said yes. Then my number was blocked (by the delivery service officer)," said Witan. Witan also said his number was also blocked by the motorbike seller. Witan's belief in being cheated grew stronger. Out of curiosity, Witan tracked the seller on Facebook. The result, said Witan, was that many people were also deceived. "I tracked the photo on Google Lens. Then I got his Facebook with the name Arip Prasetyo. There were many who commented on his Facebook if they were tricked by this person," he said again. He admitted that he was sincere about the incident. However, he still hopes that the perpetrators will be caught soon, so that such incidents do not happen again. "I intend to report to the police. But I'm confused about the plot. I just hope this person is caught, a lot of people have been deceived," he said.
