Government Allows 50 Percent PTM, Khofifah Wants Students And Teachers Who Have Symptoms Of COVID-19 Not Entering School

SURABAYA - The government issued a new policy to allow regions with PPKM Level two to apply PTM with 50 percent capacity. However, teachers and students who experience symptoms of COVID-19 are prohibited from participating in PTM.

"So don't take the PTM first until the swab results show negative results. This applies to both teachers and students," said Khofifah, in Surabaya, Friday, February 4.

In addition to PTM with a 50 percent capacity, continued Khofifah, students are not required to join PTM and are transferred online, if parents or guardians object to their child joining PTM.

This is also regulated in the Circular Letter (SE) of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Number 2 of 2022 dated February 2, 2022, regarding the Discretion for the Implementation of the Joint Decree of 4 Ministers regarding the implementation of learning arrangements during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Parents are given the option of allowing their children to take part in limited PTM or distance learning," he said.

While in East Java itself, Khofifah said there were 20 districts/cities in PPKM Level two, including Kab. Tulungagung, Situbondo, Ngawi, Madiun, Lumajang, Malang City, Blitar City, Batu City, Kab. Kediri, Jombang, Bondowoso, Tuban, Sumenep, Sampang, Nganjuk, Malang, Pasuruan City, Kab. Jember, Bojonegoro, and Bangkalan.

"For East Java Province there are as many as 20 regencies/cities PPKM Level 2. Therefore, the regents/mayors and all educational units are advised to supervise the implementation of the SE," he said.

Meanwhile, regions that implement PPKM levels 1 and 3 still follow the rules in the four ministerial decrees. For East Java, there are 17 districts/cities with PPKM Level one, namely Kab. Trenggalek, Sidoarjo, Ponorogo, Pacitan, Magetan, Surabaya City, Probolinggo City, Mojokerto City, Madiun City.

Then the City of Kediri, Kab. Blitar, Banyuwangi and Probolinggo. Meanwhile, PPKM Level three in East Java is in Pamekasan Regency.

"That all education units conduct face-to-face learning according to the dynamics of changing regulatory provisions. The implementation must be safe and disciplined to apply health protocols (prokes). According to the rules of the Circular of the Minister of Education and Research and Technology," he said.
