KSP Moeldoko Invites Civil Society Coalition To Give DIM Input On TPKS Bill

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko invites a coalition of civil society and academics to jointly provide constructive input to improve the problem inventory list (DIM) of the Draft Law on the Crime of Sexual Violence (RUU TPKS).

"I believe that with a public discussion, the DIM formulation of the TPKS Bill will answer all issues related to sexual violence," said Moeldoko in a press release in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, February 4.

Moeldoko asked all parties to participate in guarding the TPKS Bill, so that the TPKS Bill could be immediately passed into law with articles that answer justice for victims.

Based on KSP information, currently the Task Force Team for the acceleration of the TPKS Bill has formulated 623 DIM, in response to the stipulation of the TPKS Bill as a DPR initiative bill.

The head of the TPKS Bill task force team, Eddy OS Hiariej, stated that there were many new substances in the DIM of the TPKS Bill.

"There are many new substances in the DIM. Of course, the government DIM still needs a lot of input from the coalition of civil society and academia," said Eddy. DPR.

To perfect the substance of the DIM which will be an attachment to the President's Letter to the DPR, the Presidential Staff Office together with the TPKS Bill Task Force Team held a public discussion involving a coalition of civil society and academics.

Eddy, who is also the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights, explained that the substance of the TPKS Bill drafted by the government covers matters of criminal procedural law to the handling and rehabilitation of victims.

"The superiority of the DIM on the TPKS Bill lies in the procedural law which is very progressive and advance. Because previously, of the thousands of cases handled by the police and the prosecutor's office, the settlement was only less than 5 percent. It means that there is a problem with the procedural law. Now this is being fixed," said Eddy.
