Prosecutors In Bali Sue Murder Suspect For 14 Years In Prison

DENPASAR - Denpasar, Bali Public Prosecutor Ida Bagus Putu Swadharma Diputra has demanded 14 years in prison for defendant I Wayan Sadia while the other defendants involved in violent crimes for four years.

"Demanding, sentenced defendant I Wayan Sadia to 14 years in prison, while the other six defendants were charged with four years in prison each," said Ida Bagus Putu Swadharma Diputra while reading the indictment at the Denpasar District Court, Bali, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 3. .

In the trial which took place in the Kartika Courtroom, Prosecutor Swadharma said that the defendant I Wayan Sadia in this case was legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing the crime of "murder" as regulated and threatened with criminality in Article 338 of the Criminal Code in accordance with the Public Prosecutor's Indictment.

Meanwhile, the other six defendants, namely Benny Bakarbessy, Jos Bus Likumahwa, Fendy Kainama, Gerson Pattiwaelapia, I Gusti Bagus Christian Alevanto, and Dominggus Bakar Bessy, were legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a crime "brightly and with collective force using violence." against people or goods”, as regulated and subject to criminal sanctions in Article 170 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in accordance with the second alternative indictment of the Public Prosecutor.

The trial was carried out based on stipulation No: PDM-0785/DENPA.OHD/10/2021 on behalf of the defendant I Wayan Sadia, with a case of a murder crime. And criminal acts of violence based on stipulation No: PDM-0786/DENPA.OHD/10/2021 on behalf of the defendants Benny Bakarbessy, Jos Bus Likumahwa, Fendy Kainama, Gerson Pattiwaelapia, I Gusti Bagus Christian Alevanto, and Dominggus Bakar Bessy.

For the next trial, the defendants and the defendant's legal counsel will submit a written defense memorandum. The trial was adjourned and reopened on Thursday 10 February 2022 with the agenda of reading a memorandum of defense.

The case began on Friday, July 23 at around 14.00 WITA, several debt collectors, the defendant from PT Beta Mandiri Multi Solusien, came to the victim's boarding house Ketut Widiada to tow a motorbike. The debt collectors came to the victim because of credit payment problems.

When they arrived at the location, no agreement was made and there was a commotion between the victim and the debt collectors. Until it continues to beat the two victims.

Meanwhile, Victim Gede Budiarsana is suspected of not paying credit for one year and having taken out a sharp weapon that triggered the defendant's emotions. Victim Gede Budiarsana was seriously injured and died at the scene, namely at the Simpang Jalan Subur-Kelimutu Monang Maning Denpasar, Bali due to being hit by a sharp weapon from the perpetrator Wayan Sadia. Meanwhile, the victim Ketut Widiada survived with head injuries and is currently being treated at the hospital.

The perpetrators were arrested on the exact day of the incident, which is on Friday, July 23 at 17.30 WITA in the Denpasar area, Bali.
