DKI Data Says COVID-19 Patients Are Often Infected By Young People Because Of High Mobility And Hanging Out Souls

JAKARTA - Data from the DKI Jakarta Health Office shows that COVID-19 patients, including the Omicron variant, are currently dominated by young workers with an age range of 21-30 years in the period December 2021-January 2022.

"This means that 21-30 are 'fresh graduates', new to work, whose activities, mobility here and there is work, even because they are still hanging out", said the Head of Disease Prevention and Control Division of the DKI Jakarta Health Service, Dwi Oktavia, in Jakarta, Monday 31 January quoted from Antara.

She asked residents to be more aware of the transmission of COVID-19 including the Omicron variant and reminded the young age group to apply health protocols.

This is because she continued, more productive ages are exposed to COVID-19, so the regulation of activities in the office follows the level of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

"The PPKM level will be updated regularly to see the development of the situation", she said.

Even so, she said, the policy of implementing work from an office (WFO) or working from home (WFH) could also be taken at the discretion of each company if positive cases were found, without waiting for the PPKM level to be renewed.

"Especially if there is a case or moreover the case is not just one and is a cluster, there is also a policy to temporarily stop activities in the office so that room disinfection can be carried out and then tracing can be carried out", she added.

Meanwhile, based on data from the DKI Provincial Government as of Sunday, January 30, daily positive cases of COVID-19 in Jakarta for Foreign Travel Actors (PPLN) reached 290 people, then local or non-PPLN transmissions were higher at 6,323 cases.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases being treated and isolated until Sunday, January 30 for PPLN reached 1,897 cases and non-PPLN cases were 26,809 cases.

Meanwhile, Omicron cases for PPLN reached 1,581 cases and non PPLN cases reached 1,311 cases.
