Metro Police Name One More Suspect In Wiyanto Halim Elderly Beating Case In East Jakarta

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Polda Metro Jaya have again named a new suspect with the initials F in the case of the beating that killed elderly Wiyanto Halim (89) in Cakung, East Jakarta.

"Suspect F played a role in vandalizing the victim's car", said Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Endra Zulpan, to reporters on Saturday, January 29.

Thus, the total perpetrators of the beating who have been named as suspects are 6 people. In addition to F, the police previously identified 5 suspects with the initials TJ (21), JI (23), RYN (23), MA (18), and MJ (18).

Previously reported, when the incident TJ kicked the victim in the waist and stomach. TJ also kicked Wiyanto Halim's car.

Meanwhile, JI also kicked the car and the victim's upper body.

Meanwhile, RYN was involved in forcibly pulling the victim's hand out of the car. After that RYN hit the victim's head.

"RYN also hit his bare hands against the victim's head and this was recorded on a video owned by investigators and there was a witness who witnessed the beating and kicking, namely MR's brother, among 7 witnesses", he said, Tuesday, January 25 yesterday.

In addition, MA stepped on the front windshield until it broke. Meanwhile, MJ kicked the victim's head.

"This was witnessed by the witness, Mr. MR", said Zulpan.

For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding beatings that resulted in death with a maximum imprisonment of twelve years.
