Sandiaga Uno Wants Recreational Parks To Open Jobs

JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, encourages the role of recreational parks to revive the tourism sector and the creative economy.

Sandiaga said this could be realized by continuing to innovate, adapt, and collaborate that leads to driving economic revival by opening up job opportunities.

"Today, we have confirmed the board of the PUTRI DPP for the 2021-2026 period. There is a new spirit, new optimism. It has been stated earlier that PUTRI is ready to partner with the government to revive the economy," said Minister Sandiaga, in Jakarta, Thursday, January 27.

Sandiaga conveyed that the existence of recreational parks spread across various regions of the country had a major role in creating job opportunities. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy targets an increase in job creation in 2022 by 20 to 25 percent.

"I see tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of job opportunities that can come from the presence of recreational parks. Therefore, it is the duty of the government, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to ensure that our programs are right on target, on the right benefits, and on time," said Sandiaga.

On the other hand, Sandiaga emphasized that one of the keys that must be implemented is the application of strict and disciplined health protocols that are integrated with the PeduliLindung application.

He said the compliance of recreational parks in implementing health protocols would greatly foster the presence of new tourism trends that are customized, localized, personalized, and smaller in size.

Then, recreational parks must also maximize the role of the creative economy to be able to mutually support recreational parks as tourist destinations.

In particular, Menparekraf Sandiaga also advised that tourist villages could strengthen their capacity with good marketing skills. "Because without being able to market themselves, they will not be able to improve the quality and sustainability of each destination," he said.
