Middle-aged Man In Siak Riau Allegedly Killed By A Herd Of Elephants, When Found In Terrible Condition

RIAU - A middle-aged man PPA (56) was reported to have died, allegedly being trampled by a herd of elephants in the Sultan Syarif Hasyim People's Forest Park, Rantau Lucky Village, Minas District, Siak Regency, Riau Province.

The head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Dafris, stated that the incident was discovered on Thursday morning. At that time, witness Juliater Manurung (45) went to the victim's garden to work but did not find PPA.

"Then the witness looked around the garden, at that time the witness saw that there were footprints of elephant feet behind the victim's hut. Then the witness saw the victim lying down", said Dafris.

The witness saw that the victim had died in a horrific condition. His body was broken, his internal organs came out and there was a lot of blood, and at the victim's place were also found many footprints of elephant feet.

Next, the witness returned to his hamlet in Koto Garo Village, Kampar Regency, to call the victim's family. The RT there together with residents went to the scene while contacting the Minas Police in coordination with Puskesmas (public health center).

"This is to evacuate victims and then bring the bodies to the Minas Health Center", said Dafris.

The victims here are also residents of Hamlet IV Plambayan, Garo City Village, Kampar. The deceased worked in his garden which is included in the Minas SSH Tahura, the Lucky Rantau Village.

In addition to the footprints of elephants, around the garden, there are also coconut trees that were damaged by elephants. However, the witness did not see the elephant and the victim at that time himself, no one else.

The local police also asked residents to be careful when doing activities in the garden because in the Minas area there are still many elephants roaming around.
