Case Of 50 Kg Cannabis Leaves In West Sumatra Transferred To The West Pasaman District Attorney

SIMPANG EMPAT - The West Pasaman District Attorney, West Sumatra received the delegation of a narcotics case with the suspect and evidence of 50 kilograms of marijuana leaves from the local National Narcotics Agency.

"The Head of the General Crimes Section has received the delegation of three files with three suspects and 50 kilograms of evidence. Soon this case will be transferred to the West Pasaman District Court", said the Head of the West Pasaman District Prosecutor's Office, Ginanjar Cahya Permana, through the Head of the Intelligence Section, Elianto at Simpang Empat, as quoted by Antara on Thursday, January 27th.

He said the three suspects were the initials RN, AP, and RE, who had previously been detained at District/City National Narcotics Agency (BNNK).

According to him, the three suspects are suspected of Article 114 paragraph (2), Article 111 (paragraph 2) of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.

He explained that the disclosure of the case began on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at around 03.00 WIB at the Tamiang Batahan bridge, Jorong Tamiang Batahan, Batahan District, where there was a sale and purchase of narcotics of dry marijuana type.

When they arrived at the location of the BNNK ranks, they immediately inspected one Avanza car, but at that time suddenly a Rush car broke through the inspection and was chased by BNNK members.

At that time, the officer saw the passengers who were in the Toyota Rush making white sacks containing dried marijuana leaves along the Tamiang Batahan road.

Then after the car stopped, a member of the West Pasaman BNNK found it empty but there were still leaves and marijuana seeds on the floor of the car.

After searching for Tamiang road in collaboration with the Ranah Batahan Police, four white plastic sacks were found containing dried marijuana leaves weighing approximately 50 kilograms which belonged to suspects RN, AP, and RE.

"Concerning the case, we will immediately delegate it to the District Court for immediate trial", he said.
