NTT Prosecutor's Office Detains Corruption Suspect For Simple Home Project For Low-Income Residents

KUPANG - Investigators of the Corruption Crime of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) High Prosecutor's Office detained NNB, a suspect in corruption in the work of a simple house construction project for low-income communities in Kupang Regency which cost the state IDR 1.5 billion.

"The suspect has been detained after being questioned by investigators from the NTT High Prosecutor's Office", said Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office, Abdul Hakim, in Kupang, as quoted by Antara on Wednesday, January 26.

Investigators of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office found two pieces of evidence of NNB's involvement as the head of technical affairs and tender committee in the construction work of the Regional PSU in Kupang Regency (PSU AK-JL-KK-1) in the 2012 fiscal year with a contract value of IDR 2,694,960,000.00 at the Ministry of Public Housing.

According to Abdul Hakim, investigators have found two pieces of evidence in determining the suspect related to the involvement of civil servants or state administrators, either directly or indirectly in chartering, procurement, or leasing.

"The suspect received a gift or promise because of his power or authority related to his position", said Abdul.

Suspect NNB as the head of technical affairs and tender committee in the construction work of the Regional PSU in Kupang Regency (PSU AK-JL-KK-1) in the 2012 budget year with a contract value of IDR2,694,9600,000.00 at the Ministry of Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia, the work unit providing houses for low-income people (MBR) Presidential Directive in East Nusa Tenggara.

Abdul explained that the Director of PT Anda Maria asked the suspect NNB to carry out these activities and handed over money amounting to IDR 260 million and part of the funds transferred to the suspect's account from the Director of PT Anda Maria amounting to IDR 1,239,000,000.00 so that the total money received by the suspect was IDR 1. 499,000,000.00.

"At the time of construction, the suspect as the head of technical affairs who had the task of supervising the work was not carried out", said Abdul Hakim.

The suspect NNB was detained for 20 days starting from January 26 to February 14 2022 at the Class II State Detention Center of Kupang.
