Police Thwart The Circulation Of 5 Kg Of Methamphetamine, Starting From Tourists Who Want To Party With Drugs In The Thousand Islands

JAKARTA - The Thousand Islands Police Team thwarted the circulation of 5 kilograms of methamphetamine. This disclosure is the development of narcotics findings brought by the community while on vacation in the Thousand Islands area.

"Because we have information, we will reveal this in the sea. It is possible that one of them was circulated in the Thousand Islands, one of which was going to party on the island", said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Thousand Islands Police, AKP Ashary Firmansyah, to reporters on Tuesday, January 25.

In addition, this disclosure began with a raid on the visitors to the Thousand Islands. The raid found evidence of methamphetamine.

"There are (drug findings, red) but in small amounts", said Ashary.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Kombes E. Zulpan, said that the methamphetamine was developed and directed to the man with the initials BP. He is known to live in Kampung Bahari, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

From that information, a BP search was carried out. However, his whereabouts were not found, but 5 kilograms of methamphetamine were found.

Then, the hunt continued to the areas of Tangerang, Banten, and Tasikmalaya, West Java. However, the police did not find the perpetrators in the area. Finally, the perpetrator was arrested in Kampung Sawah, Pandeglang, Banten on Thursday, January 20.

"Investigators managed to find and arrest the suspect on behalf of BP without a fight", said Zulpan.

When he was arrested, the man with the initials BP was immediately investigated. He admitted that the 5 kilograms of methamphetamine belonged to him and would be circulated to the Jakarta area.

"His role (BP, ed) here is for the person concerned to receive this type of methamphetamine and then store and control it. Of course, later it will be intended to be circulated", said Zulpan.

BP was charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 subsidiary 112 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The minimum sentence is 6 years and the maximum is 20 years in prison.
