Edy's statement was conveyed in a video uploaded by Youtube @MimbarTube. Initially, Edy mentioned that the government sold office buildings in strategic locations such as in Sudirman, Thamrin and so on. The proceeds from the sale of this building will be used as a cost for moving the capital city.

"The government buildings in Jakarta, in Kuningan, Sudirman Thamrin, were sold to finance the move to the new capital and there was less money. Then earlier, later on, our government, the ministries and agencies' offices will be renting out. Edy called this an unreasonable act. how is it possible, exclusive government offices in Jakarta are sold to rent new offices or buildings in Kalimantan. Previously, Edy was also highlighted for his criticism of Defense Minister Prabowo regarding the government's plan to move the new capital city to East Kalimantan. According to Edy, there will be Chinese nationals who will be placed in the new location of the nation's capital.
