The Pancasila Santri Monument In Meulaboh To Be Completed In April: There Are Photos Of Bung Karno, Garuda Birds And Photos Of Acehnese Clerics

JAKARTA - The Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) of West Aceh Regency is targeting the construction of the First Pancasila Santri Congress Monument in Indonesia to be completed in April 2022.

"The development target is 90 days, but we are trying to complete at least 60 days, starting with laying the first stone in January 2022," said Head of the West Aceh PUPR Service DR Kurdi in Meulaboh, Friday, January 22, as reported by Antara.

The construction of the first Pancasila Santri Congress Monument in Indonesia, which was built in Meulaboh, the capital of West Aceh Regency, has a height of up to eight meters, with pillars as high as five meters and the height of an eagle reaching three meters.

Under the eagle, a photo of President Soekarno as the first President of the Republic of Indonesia will be installed, along with photos of a number of clerics in West Aceh Regency and Acehnese clerics.

The construction of the monument, he said, did not use West Aceh APBK funds. However, it comes from assistance from PT Prima Bara Mahadana (PT PBM) which has been operating in West Aceh Regency so far.

Previously, the Regent of West Aceh H Ramli MS on Wednesday (18/1) laid the first stone as a sign of the start of the construction of the first Pancasila Santri Congress Monument in Indonesia, which was centered at the entrance of the Great Mosque of Baitul Makmur Meulaboh, West Aceh.

"The construction of this monument is proof that West Aceh Regency is the zero point for strengthening the Pancasila ideology in Indonesia," said Ramli MS.

According to him, the presence of the monument is a benchmark for the point of struggle again that the Pancasila ideology must indeed be developed to all corners of villages in West Aceh, and to all corners of the country.

The construction of the monument, said Ramli MS, is also intended to make people understand the meaning of the Garuda bird and Pancasila, because Pancasila is the ideology of the Indonesian nation.

"Through Pancasila, we can unite the people, nation and religion. With Pancasila, the unity of the people in the country will definitely be stronger," said Ramli MS.

Ramli MS also explained that the background of the presence of the Pancasila Santri Congress Monument in West Aceh was the initiative of the ulama and santri in Aceh, who had carried out the first Pancasila Santri Congress in Indonesia at the end of 2021 in West Aceh.

He hopes that with the construction of the monument, it can encourage people's love to love Pancasila as the basis and symbol of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) starting from Aceh.
