JAKARTA - A suitcase containing human remains was found on an empty lot at a former golf course in Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture. There is no head and arms on that body piece.
This shocking finding occurred on Wednesday, January 19, as quoted from Mainichi, Saturday, January 22.
Initially, the police got a call from a resident at around 10:50 a.m. local time. Locals reported seeing foreign suitcases under the bridge near hole 14, the Sankei Shimbun reported.
"A suitcase and other items have been dumped here," the resident said.
The police came and opened the suitcase. How shocked they were when what they found were not clothes or personal items. They instead found a plastic bag containing a human body, but without a head or arms. Police said other body parts were found in a gym bag nearby.
The golf course itself has not been used since 2015.
The prefectural police will soon form an investigative team to investigate the incident at the Imaichi Police Station on January 20.
According to the police's first investigative division, the naked body was wrapped in a plastic bag and cardboard. Apparently, the bag left nearby also contained parts of the corpse. The silver plastic suitcase -- measuring about 70 centimeters high, 60 centimeters wide, and 30 centimeters deep -- was unlocked.
