JAKARTA - The survey institute Nusantara Strategic Network (NSN) assesses that young politician from the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Tsamara Amany Alatas and Bogor Mayor Bima Arya have a great chance to become deputy governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 regional head election (Pilkada).
"Tsamara Amany has become DKI Jakarta's favorite deputy governor candidate who is suitable to be paired with the names on the governor candidate market," said NSN Program Director, Riandi, in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday, January 21.
The NSN survey institute conducted a survey of 400 respondents representing all areas of DKI Jakarta using the "multistage random sampling" method. Data collection was carried out face-to-face applying health protocols on January 5-15, 2022. Existing data showed that the number of voters in DKI Jakarta in the 2019 Presidential Election (Pilpres) was 7.7 million, an increase of 238,497 people from the previous presidential election.
The survey's "margin of error" is 4.9 percent and a 95 percent confidence level.
In the survey, several names emerged as potential gubernatorial candidates to lead DKI Jakarta. Starting from the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, Incumbent Governor Anies Baswedan, and Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria.
The simulation results of the survey show that the Ganjar-Tsamara Amany Alatas pair received support as much as 34.5 percent, Riza-Tsamara (28.5 percent), and Risma-Tsamara (21.0 percent).
"When paired with Anies, who incidentally often has opposite attitudes with PSI, he still received 14.3 percent support," said Riandi.
In addition, the Ganjar-Bima Arya pair received 30.8 percent support, Riza-Arya Bima (27.8 percent), Anies-Bima Arya (19.0 percent), Risma-Bima Arya (14.5 percent), and the rest do not know/do not answer (7.9 percent).
Meanwhile, the figure of Risma who received the most support when paired with the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Golkar DPD Ahmed Zaki won 28.0 percent.
In another simulation, Zaki Iskandar was paired with Ariza (22.5 percent), Ganjar-Zaki (19.5 percent), Anies-Zaki (16.3 percent), and the rest did not know/don't answer (13.7 percent).
Finally, the Anies pair with Ahmad Sahroni received the least support, which was 22.0 percent. Sahroni was paired with Ariza (19.3 percent), Ganjar (19.0 percent), Risma (17.5 percent), and many chose not to know/no answer (22.2 percent).
"This simulation of the DKI Jakarta cagub-cawagub pair can be a reference for political parties in carrying out candidates and building coalitions," said Riandi as quoted by Antara.
The terms of office for the governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta will end in October, so the position of regional head will be filled by the acting (Plt) until the end of the 2024 elections.
