Aceh Besar Prosecutor's Office Throws Father Of Child Raping Into Jhanto Prison Cell

BANDA ACEH - The Aceh Besar District Attorney (Kejari) executed a father with the initials SRD (45) to the Jantho Aceh Besar Class IIB Rutan because he was proven to have raped his biological child, after the decision of the Supreme Court (MA) was issued.

"We have executed SRD (45) which was proven to have violated Article 49 of Aceh Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning the Jinayat Law to the Class IIB Jantho Aceh Besar Detention Center," said Head of Intelligence at the Aceh Besar Kejari Deddi Maryadi, in Aceh Besar, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 19.

The execution of the rape convict was based on the Supreme Court's Cassation Decision Number: 16K/AG/JN/2021 dated December 14, 2021.

Deddi said that in the Supreme Court's cassation decision, the convict was sentenced to 180 months in prison minus the period of detention he had served.

Deddi explained, at the first instance decision by the Syar'iyah Court of Jantho Aceh Besar Number 16/JN/2021/Ms.Jth dated August 16, 2021, the convict was sentenced to 180 months in prison.

"However, at the level of appeal by the Aceh Syar'iyah Court, the defendant acquitted the child rapist with decision number 22/JN/2021/MS.Aceh dated 28 September 2021," he said.

For the acquittal, continued Deddi, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Aceh Besar filed a cassation to the Supreme Court, and finally the convict was declared legally and convincingly proven guilty of rape and sentenced to 180 months in prison.

Previously, the convict was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banda Aceh Police in February 2021 for sexually abusing his own four-year-old biological child.

The convict himself worked as a civil servant who served in an agency in Banda Aceh City. The incident that happened to the poor boy took place at the defendant's house in Aceh Besar.

The defendant was reported to the police by the victim's mother (the perpetrator's wife) who happened to no longer live at home. The defendant was arrested at his home on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
