Once One Price Is Implemented, Cooking Oil In North Sulawesi Immediately Becomes IDR 14,000/Liter

JAKARTA - The government has officially imposed one price of cooking oil, which is Rp. 14,000 per liter, starting today. The price of cooking oil in North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi) immediately decreased by Rp. 14 thousand per liter.

"This is done in accordance with the commitment of the Minister of Trade, Muhammad Lutfi, who emphasized that the government will meet the food needs of the people at affordable prices," said Head of Industry and Trade of North Sulawesi, Edwin Kindangen, in Manado, Wednesday, January 19, as reported by Antara.

He said related to the high price of cooking oil, the government set a policy of one cooking oil price with a price equivalent to Rp. 14,000/liter.

The one-price cooking oil policy is the government's continued effort to ensure the availability of cooking oil at affordable prices.

Through this policy, all cooking oil, both premium packaging and simple packaging, will be sold at a price equivalent to Rp. 14,000/liter to meet the needs of households and micro and small businesses.

"To provide wider benefits to the community, the government has issued a policy of providing cooking oil at one price," he said.

The Head of Home Affairs, Disperindag, North Sulawesi, Ronny Erungan, said that through this policy, it is hoped that the public will be able to obtain cooking oil at affordable prices, and on the other hand, producers will not be harmed because the difference in price will be reimbursed by the government," he said.

"I hope the public is not expected to buy (panic buying) because the stock of cooking oil is in very sufficient quantities," he explained.

Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi emphasized that the government would not hesitate to impose sanctions on producers or cooking oil companies that sell their products above IDR 14,000 per liter.

"Manufacturers who do not know the provisions will be subject to sanctions in the form of freezing or revocation of business licenses. We remind the government to take very firm steps," he said in a virtual press conference, Tuesday night, January 18.

Not only that, Lutfi also emphasized that he would take legal action for all parties who committed fraud or misappropriation of cheap cooking oil at one price.

"We remind that anyone who commits fraud or commits any acts against the law of the government will continue with the legal process," he said.
