Teacher In Sampit, Central Kalimantan Arrested By Police For Distributing Drugs

SAMPIT - The Narcotics Investigation Unit of the East Kotawaringin District Police, Central Kalimantan, arrested 10 people suspected of being involved in drug trafficking in Sampit, one of whom is DS (46), a school teacher in Cempaga District.

"He acts as a sub-city, meaning that there is a city above him. We are still investigating the case to be investigated further", said Police Chief, AKBP Sarpani, in Sampit, quoted by Antara on Tuesday, January 19.

There were seven cases revealed with 10 suspects, consisting of seven men and three women. The total amount of evidence seized was 86.27 grams worth IDR 172. 540,000.

The ten suspects are S (54), I (49), HW (45), M (40), MK (40), M (45), S (52), H (45), MSA (29), and DS (46). Suspects S and H, while DS is a teacher.

Sarpani said he was concerned because the number of cases that were revealed illustrates the rampant drug trafficking in this area. Moreover, some unscrupulous teachers are involved in the network of suspected drug dealers.

Based on her identity card, the female teacher sold crystal meth between her professions.

DS was arrested on DI Pandjaitan Street in front of Gang Delima 2, Mentawa Baru Hilir Village, Mentawa Baru District, Ketapang, Monday, January 17 at around 19.40 WIB. The evidence found was seven packages of suspected methamphetamine weighing 33.55 grams.

"He was arrested when he was not carrying out his duties as a teacher. We are continuing to investigate all the cases that have been revealed to pursue the big city", said Sarpani.
