Edo Kondologit's Brother-in-law Dies, Police: If There Is A Violation, He Will Be Prosecuted

JAKARTA - The West Papua Regional Police's Professional and Security Division (Propam) intervened over alleged errors in detention procedures that caused Edo Kondologit's brother-in-law, George Karel Rumbino alias Riko to die.

Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono said a number of information and clues were being gathered. Later, if it is proven that there is a violation, then strict sanctions will be given.

"If there are violations committed by members, of course they will be prosecuted," said Argo in his statement, Monday, August 31.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Sorong City Police, AKBP Ary Nyoto Setiawan said the results of the temporary investigation of Riko died as a result of being tortured by another prisoner named Cece.

"Checked the detention room's CCTV, and it was found that the detainee on behalf of Cece had repeatedly mistreated Riko on his chest and face," said Ary.

Related to the case that ensnared Riko, said Ary, it started with a case of alleged violent crime accompanied by rape against. So the arrest was made on Thursday, August 27th.

From the results of the examination, it was found that Riko entered the victim's house through the window. Then tried to take the cellphone but when he was about to steal other items, the victim caught the action.

So, the victim tries to fight back by shouting. But Riko tried to shut him up and there was a push between the two. Finally, the victim fell, then Riko caught his neck with a rope to death.

"Riko is suspected of being drunk. There is evidence of the victim's cellphone found on him," said Ary

Not only that, Riko also fought officers. The resistance was carried out when investigators carried out checks and developments to find the rope used to entangle the victim's neck.

However, Riko tried to run away. It's just that, his efforts failed because he hit the glass door so that he injured his feet and head.

In fact, Riko also tried to escape again when the investigators took her to Doom Stop Harbor. On the way before the Al Jihad mosque, Rimo, who was in the back seat of the car, tried to take Senpi, a team member.

"The team took measured decisive action against the suspect and then the suspect was taken to the Sele Be Solu Hospital to get treatment," concluded Ary.
