COVID-19 Update As Of January 17th: New Cases 772, Recovered 598, Death 4 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 269,513 specimens were examined with the results of 772 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,272,421 and 8,775 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Monday, January 17.

Today's recovered cases increased by 598 cases, bringing the total to 4,119,472 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 4 people and the total was 144,174 people.

The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 493 cases and a total of 871,422 cases. Followed by West Java with 89 new cases with a total of 709,691 cases. Banten has 89 new cases and a total of 133,515 cases. Then, Riau Islands with 22 new cases and a total of 54,787 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 365 recovered cases. Followed by the Riau Islands with an increase of 15 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 20 recovered cases, and West Java with an additional 17 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 67,694,431.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 9.42 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 3,069 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 176.629,941 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 119.992,852 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 1,341,248. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
