JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has responded to President Joko Widodo's order to immediately investigate cases of alleged violations of the 2015-2016 Ministry of Defense Satellite Project. Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin has signed an investigation warrant.

"Today we signed the investigation warrant," said Burhanuddin at the Kartika Adhyaksa Building, the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta, Friday, January 14, as reported by Antara.

This afternoon, the prosecutor's office will also officially announce to the public the development of the case, which has now begun to be investigated.

"This is the plan for the satellite, this afternoon we will gather our fellow journalists. Later in the afternoon we will inform you that today we will sign the investigation warrant," said Burhanuddin.

Burhanuddin fully handed over the explanation of the case to the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (JAMPidsus).

"Then, whatever the position, later, please ask JAMPidsus later this afternoon," said Burhanuddin.

Previously, President Joko Widodo ordered that cases of alleged violations of the Ministry of Defense satellite law that cost the state more than Rp800 billion should be investigated thoroughly. has held several meetings to discuss the matter. In fact, Mahfud has coordinated with Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Communication and Information Minister Johnny G Plate, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa, and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin.

Based on the regulations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), countries that have obtained management rights will be given three years to fill out their orbital slots. If it is not fulfilled, the right to manage orbital slots will automatically expire and can be used by other countries.

To fill the vacancy in managing the orbital slot of 123 degrees east longitude, said Mahfud, the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) fulfilled the request of the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) to obtain the right to manage the orbital slot of 123 degrees east to build a defense communications satellite (Satkomhan).
