This Is What The Man Who Kicked The Offerings Looked Like On Mount Semeru When Questioned By The Police

JAKARTA - The man with the initials FH caused a stir by deliberately kicking an offering at the Mount Semeru disaster site. Last night, FH was arrested by the Yogyakarta Police.

The Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Police, Kombes Yuliyanto, said the arrest of FH occurred at around 23.00 WIB. The arrest process was led directly by the Director of the Ditreskrimum Polda DIY, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi.

"The person concerned is secured on the road in the Banguntapan sub-district," said Yuliyanto, Friday, January 14.

The Yogyakarta Police are the backup team in the arrest process. When ambushed, there was no resistance from the perpetrators.

Together with East Java Regional Police personnel, the police then took FH to the Banguntapan Police Station for initial questioning. From the picture received, FH is seen sitting in the Integrated Police Service Center room at the Banguntapan Police Sector.

"The man was taken to the East Java Police in a safe condition," said Yuliyanto.

Previously, a video of a person wearing a black vest cursing the use of offerings in the Mount Semeru area. In the video, he throws offerings in front of him, some even being kicked by the man.

The police are indeed furious with the acts of intolerance carried out by FH at the Mount Semeru disaster site. The police will also hunt down the person who spread the video.

Perpetrators of intolerance can be charged with article 156 of the Criminal Code regarding hate speech and insults to a group, namely anyone who publicly expresses feelings of hostility, hatred and contempt for a group of Indonesian citizens with a penalty of 4 years in prison and a fine.

Meanwhile, related to the spread of viral videos that can be snared by Law no. 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) which states that any person who intentionally and without rights disseminates information intended to create hatred and hostility towards individuals or groups of citizens based on ethnicity, religion, race and certain groups, the threat is imprisonment for a maximum of 6 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 1 billion.
