Child's Violence Is Called Just Content, Parents: We Are Very Disappointed

MAKASSAR - Parents of victims of cases of alleged child abuse accompanied by violence with the initials IRM that befell their children are disappointed. This is because the head of the Makassar City Education Office, South Sulawesi claimed that this violent incident was only for social media content.

"We are very disappointed with the statement from the Makassar City Education Office that this is content. It was our daughter who experienced violence," said the victim's father, Andi Idris, accompanied by his wife Andi Erni Pallawa Rukka after reporting at the local police station, reported by Antara, Thursday, 13 January.

He said the incident took place on Friday, January 7, 2021, but it was only discovered after the video of alleged violent bullying went viral on social media and became a topic of conversation on Monday, January 10.

Then, the Education Office through the Head of the Office Muhyiddin commented to reporters that the incident was only the creation of content on social media, even though after careful attention the treatment was an act of violence.

"After that (it went viral), the next day the Head of the Education Office came to the school and issued a statement that this is content. We as parents are very disappointed with what he said. Even though this is a fact about the violence experienced by our child," he explained.

Responding to the incident of violence against his son, Andi Idris has reported the case for alleged abuse and beatings to the Makassar Police Station to get the legal process enforced.

"We have had a follow-up to the legal process by reporting it to the police. My wife has been taken (viral video) on her cellphone (by investigators)," said Andi Idris.

Previously, the Head of the Makassar City Education Office, Muhyiddin, said that the incident was only the creation of content by the victim's classmates.

"If you say there was a fight between the two schools, it's not true. We have brought the SMPN principal to confirm what happened, but it's not like that (student fights)," he said.
