JAKARTA - An aerial power cable located on Kalisari Raya Street, RT 06/01, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta emitted sparks. The fire burned all parts of the cable until it spread to power poles and trees.

Head of East Jakarta Sub-dept. of Fire and Rescue, Gatot Sulaeman said the burned aerial cable belonged to PLN. The cause is suspected to be an electrical short.
"Initially, PPSU (Handling of Public Infrastructure & Facilities) saw sparks in the PLN cable and then went to the 520.1 fire department post. We deployed 2 fire trucks with 10 personnel to the location", Gatot told reporters, Thursday, January 13.
