Disperindag: Beef Prices In Aceh Stable, Per Kilogram Rp145 Thousand

ACEH - Head of the Aceh Industry and Trade Agency (Disperindag) Mohd Tanwier stated that the selling price of beef in Aceh is still stable according to the standard, which is around Rp. 145,000 per kilogram.

"The price is still the Aceh standard, and Alhamdulillah, until today, the price of meat is still around Rp. 145,000 per kilogram," said Mohd Tanwier in Banda Aceh, Antara, Wednesday, January 12.

Tanwier said the price of beef in Aceh is higher than in other regions because the supply of cattle for Aceh is brought from outside the province.

"On average the cows are locally, Aceh Tamiang, and added from outside, can be from Lampung and from anywhere," he said.

Tanwier explained that the purchase of foreign cattle to cover the need for meat consumption in Aceh was carried out because there were not many special breeding places that were representative of traders in Aceh.

"Our active traders do not yet have a representative cattle farm, except for one that is fostered by the Aceh Livestock Service," said Tanwier.

He said the price of beef in Aceh is not always stable, because at certain moments, such as the entry of the month of Maulid and before the tradition of meugang fasting until Eid, the price can reach Rp. 170,000 per kilogram.

"Ahead of trading, our meat prices are playing at Rp. 170,000 per kilogram, up to Rp. 200,000 per kilogram for the south west region of Aceh," said Tanwier.

Nevertheless, Tanwier continued, until today Aceh will not have problems with cattle stocks, even before Ramadan, because the government has prepared supplies.
