JAKARTA - The National Police is planning to change the color of the security unit uniform (security guard) from brown to beige. The reason is that people find it difficult to distinguish between police and security guards.

"The current uniform is too similar to the National Police uniform. This causes confusion and difficulties for the community to distinguish between police and security guards," said Head of Public Information, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Wednesday, January 12.

In addition, continued Ramadhan, security guards must have their own identity. This is because the security guard is the bearer of limited police duties.

"Security is a new profession as the bearer of a limited police function, it needs to have its own identity that is different from the National Police as its supervisor," he said.

After the assessment process is complete, the new uniforms for security guards will be published directly to the public. The plan, the publication process will be on December 30.

"On the anniversary of the Security Guard, a new uniform color will be introduced," said Ramadhan.

Meanwhile, the National Police plans to change the color of the security unit uniform (Satpam) which is currently brown to beige. However, this plan is still in the review stage.
