Former President Director Of PTPN Will Soon Be Tried Regarding Alleged Corruption In Procurement At Djatiroto Sugar Factory

JAKARTA - Former PTPN XI Production Director Budi Adi Prabowo will face trial after his case file was transferred to the Surabaya Corruption Court.

He was tried in relation to the alleged corruption case in the procurement and installation of a six roll mill at the Djatiroto Sugar Factory.

"Prosecutor Budhi S has transferred the case files of Budi Prabowo et al to the Corruption Court at the Surabaya District Court," Acting Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Spokesperson for KPK Enforcement told reporters on Wednesday, January 12.

Besides Budi, the KPK also handed over files belonging to the Director of Wahyu Daya Mandiri, Arif Hendrawan. Furthermore, Ali said that the detention of the two was the responsibility of the Surabaya Corruption Court.

"And for the smooth running of the trial process, the defendants were detained. The defendant Budi Adi Prabowo was deposited in the East Java High Prosecutor's Detention Center and the defendant Arif Hendrawan was deposited in the East Java Police Detention Center," he said.

After the files have been handed over, the KPK is now just waiting for the appointment of the panel of judges and the trial schedule with the agenda for reading the indictment.

The two defendants were charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.

In this case, Budi and Arif are said to have held a meeting which resulted in an agreement to install the milling machine at the sugar factory even though the auction process had not yet started.

Not only that, Budi and his staff together with Arif also conducted a comparative study at a sugar factory in Thailand. However, Alexander said, the visit was actually financed by Arif and money was given to the entourage.

To smooth this step, Arif has also prepared other companies so that it seems that an auction has taken place.

In addition, there was a gift of one car unit during the auction process from Arif to Budi. The two corruption acts cost the state finances up to IDR 15 billion.
