The Airsoft Gun Brought By The Debt Collector At Otista Has Letters From Perbakin, But It's Expired

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) of the East Jakarta Metro Police are investigating the motives of a debt collector (deb collector) with the initials FST who was arrested for possession of an airsoft gun and an electric shock device.

"Weapons have indications (intimidating), because there are weapons and there are electric shocks. I'm afraid there are indications there. We will investigate later," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Ahsanul Muqaffi when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, January 12.

Kasat confirmed that FST had been detained at the East Jakarta Police Headquarters as of Tuesday, January 11. Despite having a soft gun ownership certificate, Kasat said that the letter had expired.

"He has the letter, but it's dead. You can't, it says Perbakin, that's not allowed, that's wrong. He was arrested yesterday," he said.

In addition to securing an air softgun and an electric shock device, the police also found a motorbike belonging to FST that was not accompanied by a valid document.

"Regarding the motorbike without a letter, we are still developing it. Who knows there is another motorbike, the motorbike he is carrying does not have a letter of withdrawal from the customer who owns the motorbike," he said.

FST is a Debt Collector or debt collector who works in a number of leases. FST's motivation has an airsoft gun as personal protection.

"He is a Debt Collector, he is afraid of being intimidated. To scare him, there really is no perpetrator," he said.

FST was arrested by members of the East Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit on Jalan Otto Iskandar Dinata (Otista) Raya, East Jakarta. He was arrested while riding a motorbike. Kasat said, FST's movements were so suspicious that the officers stopped the motorbike.

"The order of the Chief of Police, we make observations every night to the area. So at 00.30 WIB it was suspicious. Finally we stopped, as soon as we stopped the motorbike, it turned out that there were no documents," said Kasat.

As a result of his actions, FST was charged with Article 1 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 1951 concerning Possession of Firearms.
