Provincial Government Prepares Online School Scenario Again If DKI Jakarta Increases PPKM To Level 3

JAKARTA - COVID-19 cases in Jakarta are starting to increase again, along with the findings of cases of variant B.1.1.539 or Omicron. Currently, DKI is still implementing face-to-face learning (PTM) with a capacity of 100 percent of students.

However, Head of Public Relations of the Education Office Taga Radja Gah admitted that his party was preparing a scenario to implement online distance learning (PJJ) if the central government determined Jakarta to implement Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

"Indeed, we have anticipated that environmental conditions in DKI Jakarta will enter or approach Level 3. For Level 3 PPKM, learning is mixed, partly at home and partly at PTM," said Taga when contacted, Tuesday, January 11.

If later PPKM in DKI increases the assessment to Level 3, then the PTM scenario will return to being as before, namely in July to December 2021.

At that time, the capacity of students to study in class was limited to 50 percent. Studying at school is only done three times a week, namely Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. In one day, learning at school is only 4 hours.

"We have anticipated that if something unexpected happens, based on the regulation of the 4 Ministerial Decree and the Head of Education and Education Decree No. 1363 of 2021 regarding the technical instructions for limited PTM in Jakarta," said Taga.

Regarding the pandemic conditions, there were an additional 360 daily cases of COVID-19 in the Capital City as of January 10, of which 259 cases were overseas travelers.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases is now 2.129 people who are still being treated or isolated. A total of 1.603 people from the number of active cases are foreign travelers.

Currently, there are 407 Omicron cases recorded in Jakarta. As many as 86 percent or 350 people are foreign travelers, while the other 57 are local transmissions.
