4 Days Ago Jokowi Speaks Firmly Removing Forestry Permits, But Now Central Kalimantan Forestry Office Has Not Received Decree Revocation Of Concession

JAKARTA - Central Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service officials admit that they have not officially received the Decree of the Minister of Forestry Environment (LHK) Number: SK.01/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/1/2022, January 5, 2022 concerning Revocation of Forest Area Concession Permits .

"So far, the Forestry Service has not officially received any follow-up directions on the decision to revoke forest concession permits in the Central Kalimantan region," said Acting Secretary of the Central Kalimantan Forestry Service, Ansar in Palangka Raya, Monday, January 10, as quoted by Antara.

"In principle, the Forestry Service as the OPD of Central Kalimantan Province that handles forestry affairs is ready to carry out the assigned policies according to the authority it has," said Ansar, who also serves as Head of the Central Kalimantan Dishut Program Compilation Subdivision.

Now there is a decision to revoke the permit. However, the Central Kalimantan Forestry Office has no authority to clarify the validity of the decree because there has been no official statement or clarification from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

The Decree of the Minister of Forestry Environment (LHK) Number SK.01/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/1/2022 concerning Revocation of Forest Area Concession Permits which came into force on January 5, 2022, contains six decisions and three attachments.

Attachment I is a list of SK permits for forest area concessions revoked during the period September 2015-June 2021, there are 42 names of companies with a forest area of 812,796.93 hectares throughout Indonesia. In Central Kalimantan, there are 9 companies with an area of 137,805 hectares.

Then Appendix II is a list of permits/forestry concession companies that were revoked as many as 192 companies with a land area of 3,126,439.36 hectares. In Central Kalimantan there are 50 companies with an area of 384,380.73 hectares.

Finally, Appendix III is a list of forestry concession permits/companies for evaluation consisting of 106 companies with an area of 1,369,567.55. In Central Kalimantan there are 20 companies with an area of 80,131.4 hectares.

The government continues to improve the management of natural resources so that there is equity, transparency and fairness, to correct inequality, injustice, and natural damage. The state's mining, forestry and land use permits continue to be thoroughly evaluated.

"We will revoke licenses that are not executed, that are not productive, that are transferred to other parties, and that are not in accordance with the designation and regulations," said President Joko Widodo in his statement at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Thursday, January 6, 2022.

As a start, the government has revoked 2,078 permits for mineral and coal mining companies (minerba) because they never submitted work plans.

"Permits that have been given for years have not been carried out, this has led to the use of natural resources being held hostage to improve people's welfare," he added.

Second, today the government also revoked 192 forestry sector permits covering an area of 3,126,439 hectares. These permits were revoked for being inactive, not making a work plan, and being neglected.
