Just Out Of The Market, Tens Of Millions Of IPhone Belonging To A Woman In Palmeriam Snatched By Two Young Men

JAKARTA - Two female pedestrians were targeted by mugging victims on Jalan Palmeriam, Matraman District, East Jakarta.

The perpetrators, numbering two people with one automatic motorbike, are believed to have been following the victim from inside the Palmeriam Market to the exit towards Jalan Matraman Raya.

As a result of the incident, the victim's cellphone worth Rp. 10 million was stolen by the perpetrator. The robbery was also caught on CCTV cameras at the scene.

According to Arlan, the head of the local RT, the incident occurred on Thursday, January 6, at around 19.32 WIB. The incident happened right in front of the RW 05 post, Jalan Palmeriam, Matraman District, East Jakarta.

"The perpetrators brought automatic motorbikes, there were two people and wore helmets. The license plate of the motorbike was not visible," Arlan told reporters, Friday, January 7, afternoon.

The victim tried to chase the perpetrator and shouted but to no avail. This theft has been reported to the Matraman Police Binmas officers through the local RT head.

"The victim was going to Alfa with his parents but in the middle of the road he was grabbed," he said.

The victim lost an iPhone brand cellphone. The victim's cellphone was used while walking.

"This area is prone to muggings. It is prone to lack of (street) lighting," said the head of the RT.
