Fadli Zon Appreciates The Police For The Disclosure Of Novel Baswedan Attackers

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party, Fadlo Zon, appreciates the performance of the National Police for the disclosure of the perpetrator of pouring hard water on KPK senior investigator Novel Baswedan. According to him, this is a bright spot after two years of this case running.

"I think this case is a big homework that must be resolved immediately," said Fadli Zon when he was met in the Pancoran area, South Jakarta, Friday, December 27.

According to Fadli, the issues of the involvement of individual generals in the Novel case need to be exposed clearly and not just guesswork. He asked for the resolution of this case to be done in a transparent, accountable manner and who was the person in question general.

"Then if it's caught, we just have to trace it. So that we can move on with this case, because it has been pending for a long time," continued the former deputy chairman of the DPR.

"This is a case that I think has caught the attention of the public, who have so far not received a definite answer, who speculate what is actually behind it, who is actually the perpetrator, who is actually behind it," he said.

If it is true that the perpetrator has been caught, Fadli asks that the investigation process be carried out transparently without being covered up including the motives of the perpetrators. He believes that the public will certainly pay attention to the actions of this incident.

"Indeed, there is an impression that the behavior of such cruel acts against Novel Baswedan was left unfinished. Just yesterday when I spoke at an international forum I thought this would be detrimental to Indonesia," he said.

A similar sentiment was also conveyed by the Chairman of Commission III Herman Herry. According to him, the National Police deserves appreciation for having succeeded in uncovering this case. Given that the completion of the terror case against KPK investigators has long been awaited by the people of Indonesia.

"I appreciate the performance of the National Police under the leadership of the National Police Chief General (Pol) Idham Azis and the Head of Criminal Investigation Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo. After several months in office, the promise to resolve the Novel case can be realized. Regarding the arrests of the two active Police officers, Herman admitted that he would hold a meeting with the National Police Chief during the next trial period. This is in order to obtain complete and comprehensive information from the police and to guard the investigation of this case thoroughly.

"Regardless of the profile of the suspected perpetrator of the attack, Novel Baswedan, who is an active member of the National Police, I hope that the coordination of law enforcement officials in combating corruption will not be disturbed. The National Police and the KPK must remain solid in fighting against corruption," he explained.

As previously reported, two suspected perpetrators of pouring hard water on KPK senior investigator Novel Baswedan have been arrested. Both of them are still active members of the Police.
