JAKARTA - It is suspected that two groups of teenagers were involved in a brawl on Jalan Jatinegara Barat, near the East Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters, Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

Equipped with sharp weapons and firecrackers, the two groups of teenagers tried to give each other resistance.

"At first they made fun of them, then they got into a brawl. There were fireworks too," said Timbul, a local resident, Thursday, January 6.

Timbul said, the two groups of teenagers were involved in attacking each other with sharp weapons. They also shoot firecrackers at each other.

"There were dozens of mobs fighting. A brawl between middle-aged teenagers from Pulo and mixed Kebon Pala children. Some brought sickles as well," he told reporters.

The perpetrators of the brawl also brought a number of blunt objects such as bamboo, wood, and thrown stones. This commotion was due to a matter of trivial ridicule.

As a result of the brawl of these two groups, local residents began to get restless for fear of becoming victims of the wrong target.

Residents are also worried that further clashes will occur in the future. This is because juvenile brawls often occur in this area.

"Indeed, the field (location) of the brawl is here. It disbanded after the police came to the location," he said.

Residents hope that the police officers can quickly arrest the perpetrators of the brawl and provide security at the location of the brawl. "Because residents often get the impact, residents' property is damaged due to being hit by stones," he said.
