JAKARTA – The land dispute between PT Sentul City and Rocky Gerung has heated up. Each party claims to have legal documents/letters of ownership. This time, PT Sentul City became a conversation among members of the DPD RI.

Member of Committee I of the Indonesian Regional Representatives Council (DPD) Eni Sumarni protested about PT Sentul City Tbk's land tenure. in Bogor Regency, West Java. Eni protested that PT Sentul City was considered to own land that exceeded the limit.

"In a regulation issued by the Ministry of ATR/BPN, a corporation is only allowed to control 400 hectares of land per province. However, PT Sentul City has exceeded that," Eni said, quoting Antara, Wednesday, January 5.

The DPD RI member from the Electoral District of West Java will bring the issue to the next plenary meeting and propose the formation of a special committee (pansus).

She also admitted that she was annoyed with PT Sentul City's attitude because several times they evicted residents on land they controlled for the ownership of building use rights (HGB) in Babakanmadang District, Bogor Regency.

"It turns out that the Bogor Regency Government has given a warning to Sentul City. However, it has not been heeded," explained Eni.

Meanwhile, Deputy Regent of Bogor Iwan Setiawan admitted that she had received many complaints from the public regarding environmental damage due to the construction of land owned by PT Sentul City.

Iwan hopes that Sentul City will prioritize deliberation and consensus with residents regarding the evictions so that none of the parties feel a loss.

"Yes, we have written to Sentul so that consensus deliberation is prioritized with residents. We as a local government must also protect the community because recently there have been complaints about flooding after Sentul City cleared land," said Iwan.

She also asked Sentul City not to frequently send subpoenas to residents who live on land they have controlled for a long time.
