JAKARTA - Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) Haris Pertama assessed that social media activist Ferdinand Hutahaean was not Pancasilaist because he wrote his tweets that contained SARA and had the potential to divide the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation.

"From Ferdinand's tweet, it shows that the person concerned is not Pancasilaist, anti-Pancasila," said Haris at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency building, Wednesday, January 5.

Haris said the KNPI DPP had made a report related to hate speech containing SARA with reported Ferdinand on his Twitter account @FerdinandHaean3.

Dittipidsiber Bareskrim Polri immediately processed the report by examining the reporter and two other witnesses.

Haris said the report was intended to prevent social conflict in the community because Ferdinand's tweets were alleged to have caused a disturbance and injured the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation.

"We consider blasphemy against the religious beliefs of the Indonesian people," said Haris.

Regarding Ferdinand's apology, Haris assessed that Ferdinand's tweet was not directed at himself personally, but to the Indonesian people whose feelings and beliefs had been hurt.

For this reason, Haris asked the police to immediately take firm action against the case. This incident is a lesson for the Indonesian people not to repeat similar actions.

"It's a lesson for all of us to use social media properly and correctly, not to spread hatred and noise, and damage unity and integrity," said Haris.

Ferdinand was reported to be related to the alleged violation of Article 45a paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) of Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) jo. Article 14 paragraph (1) and paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.
