Update On COVID-19 As Of August 25: New Cases Of 2,447, Healed 1,807

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 21,275 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 2,447 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 157,859 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Tuesday, August 24.

Furthermore, cases recovered today increased by 1,807, so that a total of 112,867 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 99 people and a total of 6,858 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 637 new cases and a total of 34,740 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Then, East Java has 363 new cases with a total of 30,998 cases. West Java with 250 new cases and a total of 9,670 cases. Central Java with 198 new cases and a total of 12,826 cases. Then, East Kalimantan has 141 new cases and a total of 3,286 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 524 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 384 recovered cases, East Kalimantan with an increase of 167 recovered cases, and South Sulawesi with an increase of 138 recovered cases.

Then, there are 3 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are Central Sulawesi, West Papua and Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 2,077,441. In detail, as many as 2,037,355 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 40,086 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 13.2 percent," he wrote.

Finally, for the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 76,667 people. Currently, 485 districts / cities out of 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
