First Day Of Novel Baswedan's Police 'Uniform', Ready To Work On Boss Target

JAKARTA - Ex-KPK senior investigator Novel Baswedan had no personal targets on his first day serving at the Corruption Crime Directorate (Dittipidkor) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Department. All tasks will be completed according to the direction of the leadership.

"No (personal targets), if the targets are all according to the Police Division," Novel told reporters, Monday, January 3.

According to Novel, as a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the National Police, it is not allowed to bring personal or group perspectives. Because, all tasks must be completed according to the objectives of the Bhayangkara Corps.

"We don't do it from a personal or group perspective, we take an institutional perspective," said Novel.

In addition, Novel stated that his position in the Dittipidkor Bareskrim was more for prevention. However, for the task in detail he doesn't know it yet

"The position is, as we said before, we were given the task of preventing corruption, what kind of pattern will be discussed later," said Novel.

Previously, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the experience of Novel Baswedan and his friends could help resolve the culture of corruption in Indonesia. This is one of the reasons why Novel is placed on the side of prevention.

"Surely this track record can be used as a basis when carrying out activities to resolve potential leaks at the root of the problem due to a culture of corruption," Sigit told reporters, Friday, December 10.

In addition, Novel's experience can strengthen the handling of corruption cases so that the culture of corruption will gradually erode and disappear.
