Responding To The Effect Of Transfer Of KPK Employee Status, Firli: A Few Pessimists, We Answer With Performance

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri said that the transfer of his subordinates' status to state civil servants (ASN) was like a special supplement. This change is considered to have accelerated the performance and efforts of the anti-corruption commission in eradicating corruption in the country.

"This status is like a special supplement given by the state to us to accelerate the performance and all the power and efforts of the KPK as the spearhead of eradicating corruption in the motherland," said Firli in a written statement quoted on Sunday, January 2.

He did not deny that many parties were pessimistic about the transfer of employment status. However, Firli claims that this has actually made his institution's performance even more improved.

This is evidenced by the KPK's performance achievements in the fields of education, prevention, and prosecution.

"The pessimism of a few people towards this status transfer, we answer with tangible results from the high performance of all KPK personnel, which can be known to the public from reports on achievements that we have reported directly to the public, government and people's representatives in Senayan," said the former Deputy for KPK Enforcement. .

He then explained the achievements of the KPK until last December. Regarding the handling of corruption cases, Firli said his agency had conducted 127 investigations, 105 investigations and 108 prosecutions.

In addition, there were 90 corruption cases which were declared legally binding or inkracht, 94 were executions of decisions, and the number of suspects detained reached 123 people.

Meanwhile, in an effort to recover assets or asset recovery, as of December 20, it has reached Rp. 374,378,628,093. In details, Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) or deposit to the state treasury reaches Rp. 192,029,600,093; deposit to the regional treasury Rp4,374,321,000; and PSP or grants reached Rp. 177,974,707,000.

Furthermore, the KPK has also succeeded in saving the country from potential losses of up to IDR 35.965 trillion through various studies.

Not only that, there are many other efforts to prevent corrupt practices, such as intensifying the reporting of State Administrators Wealth Reports (LHKPN), gratification reports, and implementing anti-corruption education.

Despite many positive notes, Firli emphasized that the KPK will continue to improve. This is in accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"KPK always continues to improve itself, making many new breakthroughs that are in line with the current situation and condition of the country, so that the handling of corruption will no longer cause noise that can disrupt the socio-economic ecosystem of the nation and state," he said.

"With more fundamental methods, more basic and more comprehensive efforts, the target of eradicating corruption can certainly benefit the people, nation and state," said Firli.
