KPK Prosecutor Reveals Names Of Receiving Corruption Money, Cigarette And Alcohol Excise In Bintan

TANJUNGPINANG - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed a number of names participated in receiving money from corruption in cigarette and alcoholic beverage excise in 2016-2018 in Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province (Kepri).

The Public Prosecutor revealed this at the inaugural trial of the 2016-2018 corruption case against cigarettes and alcohol, which involved two defendants, namely the inactive Bintan Regent Apri Sujadi and former Head of BP Bintan Region Mohd Saleh Umar.

"This case has caused state losses of up to Rp429 billion," said KPK Public Prosecutor Joko Hermawan when reading his indictment at the Tanjungpinang District Court, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 30.

Joko mentioned the names of the connoisseurs of the corruption proceeds, including Bintan DPRD member Muhammad Yatir of Rp2 billion, former Deputy Regent of Bintan Dalmasri Syam of Rp100 million, member of BP Region of Bintan Yurioskandar of Rp240 million.

Then, Bintan Regional Secretary Edi Pribadi Rp75 million, Mardiah Rp5 million, Alfeni Harmi Rp47 million, and the former Head of Bintan DPMPTSP and member of BP Bintan Region Mardiah Rp5 million.

In addition, there are also PPNS for the Trade and Cooperatives Office of Bintan Setia Kurniawan for Rp5 million, Risteuli Napitupulu for Rp5 million, and Yulis Helen Romaidauli for Rp4.8 million.

The trial of the corruption case will continue on January 6, 2022, with the agenda of presenting witnesses.

The KPK on Thursday, August 12 announced Apri Sujadi and Mohd Saleh Umar as suspects in the alleged corruption case in the regulation of excisable goods in the management of the Bintan Free Trade Zone and Free Port in the Bintan Regency 2016-2018.

Both are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
