JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) Jampidum, Fadil Zumhana; and Kabareskrim Polri, Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo; have formed a team and joint post for fire management in the Main Office of the AGO. The statement was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD.

"A joint post has been established between Kabareskrim and the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes to carry out investigations," Mahfud said at an online press conference, Sunday, August 23.

According to Mahfud, this team held a meeting at 09.00 WIB while waiting for the fire fighting team to cool down the building's burning temperature for nearly 12 hours.

The cooling process is necessary so as not to cause new hotspots that can get the fire bigger. "While the cooling process was running, this morning, there was a meeting of the Command Post for Jampidum and Kabareskrim at 09.00 WIB," he said.

Furthermore, Mahfud also reported they did several things after the fire went out.

"Earlier, there was a check on the feasibility of building construction. Then it was carried out by the Forensic Laboratory team," he said.

Mahfud explained that the main building of the Attorney General's Office that caught fire was not a building related to case investigations. They used this building to deal with human resource (HR) issues in the Adhiyaksa Corps.

This building had rooms for high-ranking officials of this agency, such as the Attorney General and his deputies, as well as several other rooms. However, he made sure that the room didn't store any case files. "Everything is far from the case file," he said.

Previously, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin also conveyed certainty about the security of documents from the tantrum.

"Here (in the Main Office of the AGO), there were only human resources. Detainees at the back, safe. All safe. So case files and detainees are safe," he said.

Meanwhile, Kapuspenkum of the Attorney General's Office, Hari Setiyono, said the scorched condition of the building did not interfere with the work of the Adhiyaksa Corps. It is because the Attorney General's Office has some buildings that can function as offices.

Besides, Hari said that the Attorney General's Office has back-up data. Including data related to employment as well as data regarding the case files, they are currently under investigation.

"The fire doesn't affect the handling of corruption cases. Because the case files are 100 percent safe," he said.

"So we have data back-up. It has been anticipated. If something happens, there are the first and second steps as anticipation. It's a disaster. We wouldn't know," he said, saying that back-up data is commonly called a record center.
