The National Team Duel Against Thailand In AFF Cup Final, Ma'ruf Amin: Indonesia Can Win

JAKARTA - The fierce duel between the Indonesian national football team and Thailand in the first leg of the 2020 AFF Cup will be held at the National Stadium, Singapore on Wednesday, December 29 at 19.30 p.m. Indonesian Western Time (WIB).

All parties are enthusiastic and hope that Shin Tae-Yong's national team can win the match in the first leg. Vice President Ma'ruf Amin is no exception, who believes that Indonesia will win even though he does not predict how many goals the players will score.

"I don't think I can predict but I just hope that tonight I will win the match and I will watch it at my residence. Indonesia can win, why not," Ma'ruf told reporters, Wednesday, December 29.

Even though he is sure that he will win, there are several things that Ma'ruf said that the Indonesian national team players must fix to face Thailand's attractive game tonight. "Indeed, there are two things that I think need to be addressed," he said.

"One thing is that his stamina must be strengthened. Indeed, sometimes his stamina when playing the full 90 minutes, there should be no change, I think that must be encouraged. Second, I see that running speed still needs to be improved (improved, ed). Two things that I think need to be improved we will be much better (better, ed)," added the former Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Rais Aam.

However, so far the Indonesian game is considered more developed than before. This, said Ma'ruf, can be seen from the pattern of attack and defense of the national team which, according to him, continues to improve in every match.

So, he believes the Indonesian national team can do much in the final match which is planned to be held over two legs.

"I see that our children's play is quite good in terms of game technique, the attack is very good, then how does he attack, then how he can defend is already (good, red)," said Ma'ruf.

"If a game like that our potential to win the game (very big, red)," he concluded.
