Management Of The Eijkman Institute For Molecular Biology Handed Over To BRIN

JAKARTA - The Head of the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology for the period 2014-2021, Amin Soebandrio, handed over the management of the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology to the Acting Head of the Eijkman Research Center for Molecular Biology, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Wien Kusharyoto.

"Starting today, I hand over the rights, responsibilities, and obligations of managing the Eijkman Molecular Biology Institute to the Acting Head of the Molecular Biology Research Center Eijkman Wien Kusharyoto," Amin said in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 28.

Amin stated that some adjustments would be made after the merger of the Eijkman Institute into BRIN.

"We hope that this change will not dampen our enthusiasm to continue working and working," he said.

He advised researchers at the Eijkman Institute not to stop working because researchers can conduct research and work anywhere.

"Because the important thing is not the place, the facilities, but the people who will determine the success of a business," said Amin.

Acting Head of BRIN's Eijkman Molecular Biology Research Center, Wien Kusharyoto, explained that after the integration of Eijkman into BRIN automatically all researchers who previously worked at the Eijkman Institute must carry out research activities in accordance with the new laws and regulations.

"We need to move forward," said Wien.

Head of BRIN, Laksana Tri Handoko, in a workshop on the direction of BRIN's molecular biology research held at the Auditorium of the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology said that the establishment of BRIN will automatically integrate all research institutions since September 1, 2021.

"With the formation of BRIN, actually since September 1, 2021, everything has been integrated, which is one of my priorities in institutionalizing Eijkman according to the provisions of the law so that the careers of you (researchers) can be guaranteed," he said. After joining BRIN, the Institute for Molecular Biology Eijkman's name was changed to the Eijkman Research Center for Molecular Biology (PRBME) BRIN.

Handoko said PRBME is one of the research centers within the health research organization that is being prepared by BRIN.

"We are committed to strengthening research, including research at Eijkman," he said.

He hopes that around 40 Eijkman researchers who join BRIN can become motivators and role models for other researchers.

Handoko ensured that researchers who joined BRIN's PRBME had the opportunity to expand and strengthen competencies.

He also explained that ministry/institutional employees who were transferred to become employees within BRIN would be sworn in on January 3, 2022.

BRIN has proposed the transfer of 2,476 employees from 34 ministries/agencies to support the implementation of BRIN's duties and functions.

The transfer of ministry/institutional employees to become employees of BRIN is part of the implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 78 of 2021 concerning BRIN.
