Asking Residents Not To Worry About Omicron, Deputy Mayor Of Solo Says Symptoms Only Dizziness About 2-3 Days

SOLO - The Solo City Government, Central Java asked the public not to worry too much about the emergence of the new Omicron variant of COVID-19, considering that so far no severe symptoms have been found in existing cases.

"Indeed, Omicron can still attack those who have been vaccinated, but they are mild (symptoms caused, ed.)," said Deputy Mayor of Solo, Teguh Prakosa, after receiving instructions related to controlling COVID-19 from the central government via online in Solo, Antara, Monday, December 27th.

He said one of the most common symptoms that may arise in sufferers is dizziness for about 2-3 days.

"After that it will return, so far the cases that have occurred abroad can be handled well, especially for us (Indonesia, ed.) who have been vaccinated," he said.

Therefore, he said, based on a directive from the Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin that he received online, local governments should immediately complete the COVID-19 vaccination in their respective regions.

"So that the vaccine will be completed immediately in the district / city," he said.

For directions from the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian which are also carried out online, until now local governments are still using the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 66 of 2021 concerning Prevention and Control of Corona Virus Disease 2019 at Christmas in 2021 and New Year in 2022.

"One of them is that regions apply regulations according to their respective PPKM levels. Then also create conditions according to their respective regions," he said.

He said that what was also regulated was that a maximum outdoor crowd could only involve 50 people.

"If the mall remains at 75 percent, there is no change, the closing is still at 22.00 WIB according to our level (Solo, ed). In addition, we are closing the square area (to anticipate crowds, ed)," he said.
