JAKARTA - Former Deputy Speaker of the DPR from the Golkar Party faction Azis Syamsuddin asked the KPK to open a recording (Closed Circuit Television) at the DPR to show his meeting with a number of parties related to the management of the Central Lampung Regency Special Allocation Fund (DAK) from the Revised State Budget for the 2017 fiscal year.

"That the meeting that you witnessed to me on July 21, I asked the public prosecutor (Prosecutor) to open 'CCTV' because so many people met me, every regent wants to meet me, every regional head wants to meet me, "said Azis at the Jakarta Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor), Monday, December 27.

Azis said this in response to the testimony of the former Head of the Central Lampung Highways Office, Taufik Rahman, who was a witness in his case.

While testifying, Taufik said that Edi Sujarwo, who claimed to be Azis' confidant, arranged a meeting with Azis the next day, on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the DPR building.

"So Friday, July 21, 2017 in the living room of the DPR building, we met Mr. Azis brought by Mr. Jarwo. We were introduced 'this is from Central Lampung, take care of DAK'. Then Mr. Azis took out a small note from his pocket, he said 'Ooh Central Lampung, yes there is DAK Rp25 billion'. Even though I got an idea from Aliza that initially it was Rp.99 billion, so I asked 'Can't you add it, sir?' Then they answered 'no, this is final', then we were left because Mr. Azis had a meeting," explained Taufik.

Azis also denied a number of things from Taufik's statement.

"I have never appointed Mr. Jarwo as my staff. In the SK (Decree) of the DPR which was used as a prosecutor for evidence, evidence, there is not a single sheet regarding Mr. Jarwo being appointed as my staff in the DPR, which has an acknowledgment from Mr. Edi Sujarwo," said Azis.

Azis also denied that he has a younger brother named Vio who owns a Vios cafe.

"I have five siblings, I am the youngest child, my older sister is dead. So I, from my father and mother, I never felt like I had a sister," added Azis.

"I never made an appointment and there was no request from anyone to come to the meeting in Vios," said Azis.

Azis also denied having a staff named Aliza Gunado. "Likewise with Aliza, Aliza was never recorded in my administration as my staff," said Azis.

Meanwhile, the notes regarding the nominal DAK that are part of Central Lampung in the 2017 APBNP, according to Azis, are also available on the Ministry of Finance website.

"The details presented by the witness, which was presented in the small sheet, can be accessed by all parties on the Ministry of Finance's 'website' DJKM, by accessing Google and everything can be accessed from all regencies/cities in Indonesia," said Azis.

In response to Azis's objection, Taufik said he would remain in court.

Even so, Taufik did feel that the person called Azis' younger brother, Vio, was not similar to Azis.

"Vio is a boy but he doesn't look alike, he's tall, a bit bald, thin and black," said Taufik. This was reported by Antara.
