Most COVID-19 Cases, DKI Delays Opening Of Entertainment Places

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has considered reopening a number of entertainment venues that were closed during the PSBB transition, such as film screenings (cinemas) and fitness centers (gyms). However, this plan was canceled.

This was recognized by the Head of the Tourism Industry Division of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Economic Office (Disparekraf) Bambang Ismadi.

"Yesterday we were discussing it. We are trying to propose again. Well, (the plan to open the cinema to the gym, ed) is leaking first," said Bambang when confirmed, Thursday, August 20.

Initially, the DKI Disparekraf issued Decree No. 2976/2020. It contained 23 activities and entertainment venues that were allowed to open from 14 August to 27 August 2020, or when the transitional PSBB period was extended.

This 8-page decree has been signed by Plt Head of DKI Disparekraf Gumilar Ekalaya, dated August 14, 2020.

Some of the entertainment activities listed in this decree have already opened, such as hotels, restaurants, salons, outdoor and indoor recreational parks, zoos, museums, beaches, golf, film productions, beach outdoor shows, seminars and corporate activities.

However, this decree has also allowed the opening of activities such as cinemas, billiards, bowling, swimming pools, children's play areas, and gyms. Where, this activity cannot be reopened because of the risk of spreading the transmission of COVID-19.

Until finally, the DKI Disparekraf revised the SK with the same number, namely SK Number 2976 of 2020 but with a reduction to 6 pages. In this decree, closed room entertainment activities are again prohibited.

The reason for the revocation of licenses for a number of entertainment activities, said Bambang, was the growing condition of the COVID-19 case in Jakarta. In fact, currently DKI is the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

That way, in the revised SK, only 13 types of entertainment activities or businesses are allowed to operate. The opening of the place is accompanied by conditions such as limiting the capacity of only 50 percent, limiting the age of visitors to tourism places, and must have an open letter of technical approval from Disparekraf.

The following 13 types of entertainment business activities have been permitted to operate:

1. Hotel or accommodation Maximum business owners, workers, meeting rooms 50 percent of capacity.

2. Restaurants or restaurants: Maximum business owners, workers, visitors, 50 percent of capacity and are only allowed to perform acoustic music type performances.

3. Tourism area: A maximum of 50 percent of business owners, workers, visitors of capacity and children under 9 years old and over 60 years old are prohibited from entering.

4. Wildlife park / zoo Maximum business owners, workers, visitors of 50 percent of capacity and children under 9 years old and over 60 years old are prohibited from entering.

5. Museums and galleries Maximum business owners, workers, visitors 50 percent of capacity.

6. Seribu Islands tourist beach Maximum business owners, workers, visitors 50 percent of capacity.

7. Hair care services (salon) Maximum business owners, workers, visitors 50 percent of capacity, are only allowed to carry out hair care.

8. Indoor and outdoor recreation parks. Maximum business owners, workers, visitors, 50 percent of capacity and children under 9 years old and over 60 years old are prohibited from entering.

9. Golf and driving range Maximum business owners, workers, visitors, 50 percent of capacity.

10. Performances in open spaces Maximum business owners, workers, visitors, 50 percent of capacity and children under 9 years old and over 60 years old are prohibited from entering. Must have an open letter of technical approval from Disparekraf.

11. Film production Maximum business owners, workers, visitors, 50 percent of capacity. Must have a technical approval letter from Disparekraf.
