Until D-2 Christmas, Jasa Marga Records 1.1 Million Vehicles Leaving Jabodetabek

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Parga noted that 1.106.018 vehicles had left the Jabodetabek area from December 17 to 23 or D-2 before Christmas Day.

PT Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Dwimawan Heru said that this figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four main toll gates (GT).

The toll gates that are crossed by 1.1 million vehicles exiting Jabodetabek are GT Cikupa (direction to Merak), GT Ciawi (direction to Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama and GT Kalihurip Utama (direction to Trans Java and Bandung).

"The total volume of traffic leaving the Greater Jakarta area rose 8.9 percent compared to normal traffic for the November 2021 period with a total of 1.015.248 vehicles," said Dwimawan in his statement, Friday, December 24.

Dwimawan Heru revealed, the majority of vehicles left Jabotabek or as many as 505.337 vehicles (45.7 percent) headed for the East (Trans Java and Bandung, headed for the West (Merak).

Then, there were 348.887 vehicles (31.5 percent) heading west (Merak) and there were 251.794 vehicles (22.8 percent) heading south (Puncak).

"Jasa Marga appeals to toll road users to anticipate travel before entering the toll road. Make sure the vehicle and driver are in top condition, comply with health protocols when in the rest area, fill up fuel and sufficient electronic money balance, and obey the signs and directions of officers and rest if you are tired of driving," he explained.

The details of the traffic distribution are as follows:

1. East direction

- Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 262.009 vehicles, an increase of 14.2 percent from normal traffic.

- Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 243.328 vehicles, an increase of 10.8 percent from normal traffic.

The total traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java and Bandung via the two GTs was 505.337 vehicles, an increase of 12.5 percent from normal traffic.

2. West direction

Traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak via GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was 348.887 vehicles, up 4.8 percent from normal traffic.

3. South Direction

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek towards Puncak via the Ciawi GT Jagorawi Toll Road was 251.794 vehicles, an increase of 7.9 percent from normal traffic.
